Puzzle Birds

€ 17.55 (two-color)
€ 23.40 (three-color)

There are three versions. Two or more pieces made with laser-cut technology. The purpose is to find identical shapes. Puzzles which help us understand the Physics-way that colors are combined.

  1. Puzzle Bird (Classic) 2-color. Two pieces (one yellow and one translucent blue). Find three identical shapes, one yellow, one blue, and one green (i.e. blue + yellow).

  2. Puzzle Bird (Family) 3-color. Three pieces, one yellow, one red, and one translucent blue. Find six identical shapes, one yellow, one red, one blue, one green (blue+yellow), one purple (blue+red), and an unknown "color"!

  3. Puzzle Bird (Wild) 2-color. Seven small pieces, three yellow and four translucent blue. Find four identical shapes, one yellow, one blue, one green (blue + yellow), and an unknown "color"!

There is even a song dedicated to the Puzzle Bird!

2x2x2 and 3x3x3 Cubes

€ 17.55 each

There are various versions. Those UV printed quality cubes share impressive properties of preserving shapes.

  1. Greek Flag 3x3x3. A relaxing puzzle symbolizing Kastellorizo. The cube always remains Greek.

  2. Kastellorizo 3x3x3. Panoramic photos of the island and the Museum logo.

  3. Byzantine Cross 3x3x3. The cross remains unchanged. We must gather the same gems on each face.

  4. Boukla 3x3x3 (green/red). The Boukla was a button worn by Kastellorizian ladies. It remains invariant, but we need to organise the dots.

  5. Greek Flag 2x2x2. A difficult flag theme.

  6. Australian Flag 2x2x2. Place the stars properly.

  7. Medusa 3x3x3. Legend says that when solved, her eyes will open and everyone will turn into stone! The most impressive Meduseum design. The faces remain invariant, while the squares change color.

Archimedes' Ostomachion

€ 29.25 each

Based on the oldest puzzle in the world, made by Archimedes, and combined with groundbreaking research at the Meduseum.

Do not mistake this puzzle with the Tangram. The Ostomachion is related to Combinatorics and Geometry Areas.

Unlike editions manufactured by others, here the solutions have been classified into 10 difficulty categories, so that solvers can have more challenges (this is also based on research made by P. C. Houlis at the Meduseum).

The Meduseum's Ostomachion is a quality construction made out of our different types of wood. There are three versions:

  1. Ostomachion-1 (Simple). It uses 11 pieces and simpler dissections than the classic ones. Total number of solutions: 268.

  2. Ostomachion-2 (Classic). It uses 14 pieces. Total number of solutions: 536.

  3. Ostomachion-3 (Advanced). It uses 12 pieces. Total number of solutions: 713.

Pandice

€ 11.70 each set

There are two versions of Magic Dice:

  1. Pandice-6. By using Probability Theory you can always beat your opponent.

  2. Pandice-7. By using an Algebraic Trick you can count difficult sums faster than a calculator.

In both versions, the mechanisms, the history and the new research of those "magic tricks" are provided for maximum pleasure. The puzzle here is to find out how the numbers were chosen.

Karagiozis

€ 23.40

Karagiozis, a "take apart" puzzle, where the square frame must enter and exit the figure.

Combines the shadow-theatre tradition with a well made puzzle.

It requires six skillful moves to be discovered one by one. To solve it, someone needs to spend plenty of time to become familiar with it.

Icarus' Islands + Xera

€ 87.75 (Icarus Islands)
€ 29.25 (Xera)

A boardgame puzzle with 240 Greek islands. Based on the TSP (Travelling Salesman Problem) with no algorithmic solution, you need to find the minimum distance when visiting Greek islands. There are also two extra game-levels: finding islands and the card game "Xera". A very easy to understand educational game, but difficult to master.

The card game "Xera" which incudes 120 islands (with their shape, name, population and area) may be also purchased as a standalone game.

Plato's Cave

€ 46.80

A boardgame puzzle based on Plato's famous allegory of the cave, but also on Carlo Cipolla's well known essay "the basic rules of human stupidity". It is a "sequential" puzzle for one player, but also a very fun board game for 2-4 players. It is about gaining experience of the behavior of human nature, in order to escape from the Cave and become enlightened, entering a new dimension. Moreover, each player must help others to also become "sufficiently enlightened" and accumulate an acceptable number of brain cells to gain an applied intelligence. In this way, everyone becomes effectively useful to benefit our entire society. And the one who makes the mistake to finish first without helping the others, is on the way to become "King of Fools"!

Medousa

€ 117.00

The scariest and at the same time most attractive Meduseum boardgame puzzle. It is a "matching" puzzle with a new geometric way of associations. It is also a board game that includes arithmetic, binary system, Kastellorizian mythology, history, coinage, and ecology.

Just like many Meduseum puzzles, it has been exhaustively tested in the endless hours when travelling by boat.

A puzzle that attracts young and old people. It is a first (collector's) production of only 100 games that were assembled by the Meduseum founder.

Dodecathlon

€ 99.45

In this boardgame puzzle, different animals compete in twelve Olympic events.

Despite using six differently shaped dice and running on unequal number of steps, all animals have the same winning probability. How is this possible?

Compete in all twelve different track and field Olympic events to learn the fundamentals of Statistics.

There is also a philosophical dimension, in learning the difference between Equality and Justice.

Gravity Puzzles

€ 23.40 each

These are quality designs based on simple but impressive gravitational mechanisms, patented by the Meduseum's founder.

In 2011, they were listed as the "Hero Product" sold at Harrods. There are three versions:

  1. White Dots. Helps to understand addition, while it is also a popular puzzle used at competitions.

  2. Two-color Cybedron. Match the colors. It has multiple solutions but can be confusing.

  3. Four-color Cubedron. Match the colors. Difficult puzzle with a unique solution.

Fatsoulas

€ 40.95

Also known as Stylo-Milo, this is an impressive folding puzzle consisting of four squares joined by fishing lines, which magically changes expression.

It has a total of 16 facial expressions, related to Group Theory.

The mathematical research on this mechanism was one of the reasons the Meduseum founder was invited by Erno Rubik (the creator of the famous cube and the string mechanism) in Budapest in 2009.
